Songbook - Import from Word

K

I have a song book that my friends have put together. We are going to
have a sing along in a few weeks and I would like to import the
songbook into PP so that we can present the lyrics via a projector so
that ervyone can sing along.

I know that I have to format the doc using heading 1, etc. But I don't
use PP too often so I want to save my self a lot of time by asking a
couple questions:

Here is a sample (below) of my word doc.

I would like the title to appear on one slide, I assume this is heading
1

On each slide after that I want to have Verse or Chorus, etc at the top
left corner. I assume this is heading 1 too. I only want this frame to
be small, one line at the top. Is this done by setting up a template?

Then I would like the lyrics to be the bulk of the slide. Should the
lyrics be heading 2? or normal?

Any help would be appreciated. An email with the final version of 75
songs might be able, for those people who would undoubtbly save me
hours and hours of extra work.

Cheers
DG

Why don't you just project from Word? you can remove the tool bars and
status bar by View> Full Screen. You can also enlarge the script by zooming
in: View> Zoom> (choose your percentage).

If you want chorus to always be on a new page, you can "Find All" (Ctrl+F)
word "Chorus" and format the style to "Heading 1". Then you can format
"Heading 1" style by Format> Style, select Heading 1 then click on "Format"
button, then Paragraph. Click the "Line and Page Breaks" tab and check the
"Page Break Before" box.

What the above does is to find all your words "Chorus", change it to
"Heading 1" and automatically insert a page break before the word Chorus.

Do the same for your title so that a new song always starts on a new page.
