sorry I meant default setting of the word templates folder

I would like to have my folder "templates" open as "list" and not as little
icons, without having to click on the icons in the panel. It looks
like there must be a default setting somewhere since it
always reverse to small icons as soon as I close the programm (Word
mainly)
Could anybody explain me how to change thie behaviour (registry Key
????)

ok, I think I'll have to give better explanations as to what I wish:

Using word XP 3, windows xp home
click on "new," to open a new doc based on a template
a window containing all the templates opens with little icons
I would like this list of different templates to appear not as little
icons but as a list since I have many many templates .
Is this possible ?
If yes How ?
