I am using using outlook 2002. I guess if you have to add them then I
haven't. How do I do that and will they stay there every year for now on?
Will they automatically update themselves on the next years calendar?

Yes, you have to add them using the command in Tools | Options | Calendar Options. (Think about it: How would Outlook know which holidays you wanted to add, among those for dozens of countries and religions?) Note, though, that the list of holidays that came with Outlook 2002 goes only through 2005. We are expecting Microsoft to issue a new list before the end of the year. Or you can go to http://www.slipstick.com/addins/calendar.htm#dates for alternative holiday sources.

No. After December, you won't see any holidays that you've already added. You can add more when there's a new list (or make your own).

The holiday file is just a text file. In fact, you can use the one for Outlook 2000 just by changing the file extension. There should be information on that at http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/holidays.htm
