sort by user-defined fields

I have created several user-defined fields in a contacts folder; some are
regular text fields and some keyword fields. I am trying to define views,
using these fields to sort by, but not all of the fields appear in the list
of user-defined fields in the sort dialog box. Even fewer of these fields
appear in the list of fields under the folder name. They all appear when I
want to use them to filter the contacts. Is there a property setting for
fields that allows sorting?

You group by keywords fields, not sort. If the field doesn't appear in the
User-defined Fields in Folder list, you will be unable to do either. In that
case, add the field to the folder using the New button on the Field Chooser.
