Sort postings by date?

Dear Microsoft
Why is there no facility to "sort by date" the results of a search in these
forums?
It would make it a lot easier to find things!

You could access the newsgroups via Usenet and a newsreader instead of using
Microsoft's website.

Don't use the Web interface, use a newsreader (i.e. Outlook Express or
similar) instead.
Set up a Newsgroup (if you use OutlookExpress) via Tools + Accounts +
News.
Add an account for:
msnews.microsoft.com

As your e-mail address use something like
(e-mail address removed)
to avoid receiving unwanted spam.

When prompted, download all the MS newsgroups.
Subscribe to the ones you wish.
You can then set your newsreader to sort by date.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info people.
Bottom line: This sort of functionality should be built into the browser.
After all, one can see all the rest - the posts and replies etc.

In that case, your question has nothing to do with Access, the database
product that's part of Office Professional, and the point of this specific
newsgroup.

Note that it's considered rude to only post a subject, with no information
in the body of the post.

http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&

Put in the group or groups you want to search, specify the date range, search
for posts by subject or content.

Microsoft's not the only company that can do newsgroup searching... they may
not even be in the first rank.
