Sort rows by keyword

In Excel 2000, I have a list of products that I wish to sort by brand name.
However, the brand name can be located anywhere in the product description.

For Example:
ADULT CHEWABLE MULTI-VITAMIN WAFER 60 WF - From WINDMILL

WINDMILL would be the brand name.

Each brand name has approx. 200 products; and I have approx. 30 brand names.

Any assitance would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You could use an autofilter on the column... if it sounds basic its
only because I don't know how familiar you are with Autofiltering...

Click the column heading above the descriptions.
Click Data, choose Filter, choose Autofilter. It'll put a dropdown at
the top of the column(s) selected.
Click it and scroll to down choose "custom..."
Click the dropdown under "Show rows where:" and choose contains
In the text box beside, type Windmill or a part of the word Windmill,
This'll filter the list based on the criteria "show rows where
description contains windmill". You can click the dropdown at the top
of the column again to sort Ascending or descending...

I don't know if that helps, warm regards.

Thank you for your help. I followed the recommended steps however, when the
filteration is complete only the cells that contain the keyword (brand name)
appear. The rest of the cells that don't contain the keyword are not
showing at all. I'm not sure how to retrieve the rest of the cells.

Thank you.

The filtered out information is still on the spreadsheet... to view,
click on the filter as you did below to select only wind and this time
remove the criteria. Then all the information will be present again.
Nothing's removed, its only hidden.
