Sort the record based on a field

I have a report based on a Table, which has 6 Fields/Controls.

I have Grouped on a particular field, it is ok, it groups and the data
related to it views in the details section.

Now I want to sort (sort only not group)the detail section based on a
particular field (numeric).

How to do. I did tool-sorting & grouping and selected the field for the
grouping(which is working fine, as said above). Just below that Field I
selected the another field to be sorted. But it does not effect.

Please advise.

What you describe is exactly what I often do, and it works just fine for me.
Of course, that sort will only be _within_ the detail section of each
grouping, but that is what I understand you want.

I suspect, if anyone is to be able to help, you are going to have to clarify
and provide more information. Unfortunately, I just don't know what
additional information to ask you to provide.
