I am trying to sort a column (which I have done zillions of times) and suddenly I'm getting the message "This operation requires the merged cells to be identically sized". I have copied cells from one sheet to another containing like data. There was no 'merge' of data. The columns all contain the same kind of data. I can't figure out this message.

You have merged cells. Select the column of data, and then Format
menu-Alignment, and click and then click again the merge cells check box, to
make sure it is completely unchecked. Then the sort ought to work.
