Sorting In An Organizational Chart

I am trying to come up with an "organizational chart" for my company's
entire product line based on varying hierarchical categories. Now that I've
set up the Excel file, when I run the org chart wizard it spits out the
levels in literally random fashion. It has no regard for alphabetical
order, or the order provided in Excel.

I looked up org chart sorting online and I can only find people claiming
that Visio does not allow users to sort their org chart by any criteria.
Will someone please, please reassure me that sorting--a very basic task that
computers excel at--is available in Visio? I have 2007. If so, how do you
do it? If it doesn't, I am responsible for rearranging over 300 boxes spread
across 8 pages.

Sorry, the orgchart wizard does not support sorting and actually randomly
places the people into the orgchart. Allowing the orgchart to respect the
order within the source file is a long time request.

( it is JM0061 on this page http://visio.mvps.org/wish_list.htm ).

Yikes. That's a shame. I mean, one of the greatest advantages a computer has
over a person is in rote tasks like this. Not to mention, Visio is all about
presenting information and sorting is absolutely critical to good
presentation.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the response!
