Sorting messages by Subject

Somthing interesting in Outlook. When you select a
message and then try to sort messages by subject by
clicking on the subject column, the message you
originally chose is no longer selected. It defaults to
the first "sorted-by-subject" message in your inbox.
THis is not he case when you sort by the From field or
the Received field. The message you originally chose
before the sort by these fields still remains selected.
Is there any workaround to this? We have installed
Office SP1.
