sorting

Good day to all,

I have a key index summary for our key distribution in the
hotel but the problem whenever i sort it comes like this


Key Ref

1A3-1
1A3-10
1A3-11
1A3-13
1A3-2
1A3-20
1A3-21
A3-22
1A3-3

It shoul be:

1A3-1
1A3-2
1A3-3

Is there a way to resolve this problem?

Hi jv!

First copy your column of data to a new column
Then use Data > Text to columns with - as the delimiter to establish
two columns with (eg) 1A3 and 10
Then sort all of your colomns with first of these new columns taking
precedence over second
