Sound does not play in .ppsx

When I create a PowerPoint Slideshow and insert a sound file that is located
in the Music folder of my Vista file system it works fine.

But when I create a new folder; copy the .mp3 sound file to it and then add
the .mp3 to the .ppsx and save both to the new folder the sound does not play.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi

Could be a file path length problem. Try creating a folder directly on your
C drive, moving both files to it then re-inserting the sound. You could
overcome this by embedding the sound - see here for details on how:

I think I found the solution. I substituted a smaller sound file and it
worked perfectly. I can't find any reference to size but there must be a
maximum size permited.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. AFAIK there is no max size for a linked sound
file, but seeing as the problem is fixed we'll leave it at that ;-)
