I have used HELP to find out how to add sound to animation, however I do not
have the Effects Option listed under the Custom Animation Task List as it
says. Has anyone else had this problem and found it to be elsewhere

When you set an animation, the object is listed in the TaskPane. If you
hover your mouse over that item in the pane an arrow will show up. click
the dropdown arrow and click :Effect Options.

Did that work for you?

Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Select the animation that you want to add sound effect on.

In PowerPoint 2002/XP and 2003,
right click on the animation, select effect options.
Under Enhancements in Effect tab,
Click on [No Sound] to display a drop down menu.
Select "Other Sound..."
Ok your way out.

In PowerPoint 2000,
After selecting, click on [No Sound] under Entry animation and sound in the
effects tab.
Click on [No Sound] to display a drop down menu.
Select "Other Sound..."
Ok your way out.

**Above steps are for adding wav format. If you are using other format, in
PowerPoint 2002/XP and 2003, you can insert the sound through Insert > Movies
and Sounds > Sound from file. Then set the play effect to With Previous and
re-order it under the specific animation.

Is that what you want?
