Sound files cannot be heard when I e-mail the power point show. He

I have powerpoint 2002. I understand that I need to insert wav files to
embed the audio tracks. I've done that. I plays great on my computer, but
when I e-mail the power point show, they can't hear any audio. What am I
doing wrong?

Thanks,

Bert

Unfortunately, I've done that. Click the options under the tool menu,
changed to 50,000. Converted my audio files to wav files, but unfortunately,
it is still not working properly wehn I e-mail the power point show? There
must be something else I'm missing. Suggestion?

Thanks for your help.

You need to re-insert the sound AFTER changing these options.

Even then, the sound file may still be too large to be inserted. WAV files
are huge by nature.

So delete the sound file from the presentation (check the presentation after
deleting to make sure you didn't miss any of the sounds), then re-insert the
files that were converted to WAV format.

Bill,

That's exactly what I did. I removed all sounds, converted them, and then
reinserted with no luck. I must be missing something. Question? There are
several types of wav files available in my audio program (I used Adobe
Audition) for editing music and I can save as wav files, but there are many
options as to wav files. Is there a particular type of wav I should be
using. I look forward to your response. Thanks Bill,

Bert

I do not use Audition, so can not tell you exactly what the verbiage is, but
save as a plain ol' MS windows wav file. Then check the file size. It is
possible that the wav file still exceeds the new max. size for insertion.

If this is the case, using your audio editor, see if you have the option to
change from stereo sound to mono and resave. See if you can drop from 16
bit sound to 8 bit sound. Most of the time, these changes are not
noticeable enough to affect the slide show, but can cut the wav file size
drastically.

So, what is the actual size of the wav you want to embed?

The music file is 46.1 MB...too big? If so, I'll try your suggestions to
reduce the size of the file. What is the max size it can be?

46 meg is close to the limit, but should be under the 50,000 KB limit.

Just as a test, try using a smaller sound file and see if this embeds (and
therefore transfers) correctly. If the smaller file works, then redo the
original sound file to make it smaller. If not, then we know something
didn't work the way it should.
