Sound for High Priority Mail Issue

P

PatrickConners

When I get a new message that is high priority, a very loud triple beep is
played. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to disable this sound.

I have already unchecked the "play a sound" box under "when new items arrive
in my inbox" in Options.

How do I get rid of it? I'm running Office 2007 on a Laptop with XP.

Thanks

Have you checked your Rules to make sure you don't have a rule defined?

I did, but I didn't have any rules for sound.

One of the people in my office was able to identify the issue. Apparently,
the sound was from Cisco ViewMail that is integrated with Outlook.

In addition to what F.H. said;
See if you have the Office Sounds addin installed on your machine.
I believe Toshiba laptops come preinstalled with a custom notification
program as well.

Here are the specific instructions for how to disable the voicemail and high-priority e-mail sounds in Microsoft Outlook installations integrated with Cisco ViewMail:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Select the ?Tools? menu.
3. Select ?ViewMail Options? item.
4. Select the ?Notification? tab in the dialog box which appears.
5. Uncheck the box next to ?Play urgent message sound.?
6. Click ?OK.?
