Sound problems with Midi files

I can preview Midi's and hear them fine but though they are inserted in
slides as if they are ok I cannot hear them. Wav files are fine after
inserted. What am I doing wrong?

Place the ppt file and the MIDI file in a folder on your C:\ drive
(someplace like C:\test). Then insert the MIDI into the PPT file.

Does it work?

If so, it's an issue with the length of the path to the MIDI file.

I tried that and it did not work unless i inserted the file as an object but
then I had no sound controls over the object

Okay, so how are you inserting the MIDI sound files onto your slides?

If you go to Start|Run and type mplay32.exe and play the MIDI files in that
media player, do they play?

Where did the MIDI files come from?
