Go to the web page of the manufacturer of your audio sound card and look around
for a Vista sound driver.

Bought my new system from a place called Micro Ctr. went back to them and
talked with the salesperson, also took info about my old speakers. My former
system was almost 10 yrs old and computers have evolved since then. My old
speaker system was outdated, my new hard drive is more simplified and fewer
connectors are required. Bought new speakers $15 and viola! instant sound.
To those that did respond ~ Thank you so much for your time I appreciate the
effort.

Since it's a new compouter, you probably still have some tech support
available from your computer manufacturer. Did you try calling them?
