sounds in outlook 2003

I am running outlook 2003 with exchange (not sure which
version). I have a couple of different mailboxes set up
in outlook and someone showed me yesterday how to have
each mailbox set up with its own "notification sound".
It looked simple enough, but when i went to do it today,
i can't remember what she showed me and she's out until
next week and it's just driving me up a wall. Does
anyone know how to do this?

any help is appreciated.

Under tools/options/e-mail options/advanced email options.
In the advanced e-mail options under 'When new items
arrive in my Inbox' there should be a Play a sound, make
sure the box next to that is checked.

That makes one sound for all emails arriving. I am
trying to get different sounds for emails arriving in
different mailboxes.

thanks,

As it turns out my friend came on line and told me how to
do it. I don't think you understand what i was trying to
accomplish. I want a separate sound for each mailbox I
have in outlook. Right now it plays a sound for mail
that is received in my inbox. Doing what you suggested,
I could change that sound, but that wouldn't make
different sounds on each of the separate mailboxes.

What I needed to do was choose an email from the specific
mailbox, right click -> create rule. Choose the
condition of "sent to said mailbox" and have it play
whatever .wav file i want.

Go to another mailbox, do the same thing but choose a
different .wav file for that mailbox.

that way mail going to different mailboxes will have
different sounds.

From my understanding this is an outlook 2003 option and
any previous outlook version will not have this function.

Anyway thanks for all your help and your patience with
me :)
