Source of Outlook email Properties date fields?

From within Micorsoft Outlook 2003, when a received email is selected and
File > Properties are reviewed, the Properties display the "Sent" and
"Received" dates and times. My question is are those dates and times
originated from the sender's PC, the receivers PC or a combination of both?
Please explain if the answer is a combination of both. Thanks.

Sent time is set by the email server the user used to send the mail.
Recieved time is set by your client.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, CaliforniaTodd asked:

Hi! Does that mean when the sender hits SEND/RECEIVE from within their
OUTLOOK (2002), all emails sent out of their SEND TRAY at that time will be
tagged with the time corresponding to their email server's clock with ZERO
TIME LAG?

Sort of the same question...by opening any given email and then opening the
properties for it, one can check the "TRUE" SENT TIME for an email?

I understand that there can (and often is) a time delay between the SENT
time tagged to the email and the RECEIVED time tagged by my computer.

Thanks for your input. Cheers!
