There are many service pack 2s for various products. Since you posted in an
Office newsgroup, one could assume that it is SP2 for some Office program
you have installed.

Or, one could assume you posted in the wrong newsgroup, and that it is SP2
for Windows XP.

Do you have Windows XP SP2 installed on your pc?

Have you tried the Windows Update newsgroup?

Go to this Microsoft site to download the entire XP SP2.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
Don't worry about it saying for IT professionals. It will
work on all versions of XP, even on a (no slight intended)
"beginner's" computer.
It is a long download (266 MB) so it will take some time.

Once downloaded, make sure that your computer is "clean" and
that you have no virus or other malware by running a couple
of different scanning programs. Defragment your C: drive
(system drive). Then run the download from above. It
should run without any problem if you take the "cleanup"
steps prior to attempting to run. Once SP2 is on your
system, you should then be able to obtain the remaining
necessary updates to correct the SP3 problem you have in a
later post.

Here is MS help and troubleshooting guide for SP 2 install.

To the OP: Please take a look here:

It will take a few days to get the CD but it's worth the wait as it can
be used over again if need be.
