SP1 expiry

When sp1 expires does this mean that users forms filled
out with this version will 'break'??? or does it mean you
won't be able to develop anymore??

My organisation is planning to purchase the release
version however we have some urgent forms that we require.
Is it possible to upload these into a 'release version'
document library (sharepoint site) and keep the forms
intact??

Thanks

Good news and good news. Forms you create with the preview will not stop
working. When the preview expires you will still be able to use the XML that
the form created, but not edit it using InfoPath.

And more good news, there isn't anything to "purchase" to get the Service
Pack enhancements. If you already own InfoPath 2003, the Service Pack will
be a free download to upgrade your InfoPath and Office 2003 installations.

Thanks,
Brian

Is there any chance the final service pack will be available before 7/31 or that a preview with later expiration date will be made available?

The release date hasn't been finalized yet, but of course we'd rather avoid
a dead time between the expiry and Service Pack 1's release.

Does this mean that with the upgrade the forms I developed
with sp1 preview will automatically be updated to non-
restricted versions??
Thanks

Forms created with the SP1 Preview will be compatible with the released
version automatically.

I guess I need this spelled out at the moron level. Based on earlier discussions, I am speculating that expiration means you won't be able to fill out, revise the content, or modify the design of forms built with the preview after 7/31. You would, however, be able to view completed forms. Do I have this right?

The actual SP1 product will expire at the end of this month. Only the
application will expire (very limited use of features). The forms
themselves will not expire, and will continue to work as expected on
machines that have a fill version of the product.

does that make it more clear?

What happens when you open a form using SP1 feature(s) after the
expiry date?

InfoPath will give you an error stating that the Beta software has expired
and InfoPath will launch in Reduced Functionality Mode (RFM).

While there has been little said about the "official" release of Microsoft
Office SP1, the leading thought is that it should be out by the end of this
month.

But you are correct, once it expires, you will have to wait for SP1 to be
released to resume work on your SP1 forms.

Even a bigger moron here. This thread has me very concerned.

I'm currently developing forms with SP1 Preview (we already have Infopath
licenses). If the SP1 release date is after 7/31, does this mean that I'm
going to have to stop development from 7/31 until the release date?
I'm using many SP1 features - including managed code through the Visual
Studio toolkit - so I don't see any possibility of continuing development on
these forms without SP1.I believe expiration means that you won't be able to fill out, revise or
change the design of forms built with the preview after 7/31. Hwever, you
would be able to view completed forms. Do I have this right?

We *really* hope there's not a time gap where you are left without a method
to develop and use Service Pack 1 forms.
