SP1 is now available

I read the bit about uninstalling OneNote prior to
installing the SP1 preview....but it also says you need
the original CD at some point in time.

I downloaded and converted the trial of OneNote online
(i.e., purchased a product key). I don't have a CD
(unless they're going to send me one -- I just purchased
the product key this past weekend).

Question: Can I still install the preview or do I have to
wait for the official release of SP1? As long as I have
the original OneNote setup file, will that be sufficient,
or do I really need a CD?

Thanks, in advance.

Take care,
Kathy

You can install the SP1. When SP1 goes to release what you'll have to
do is reinstall the trial version of OneNote, then use your purchased product
key to convert it to the full version, then apply the released SP1 to that.

Will this require uninstalling the SP1 Preview before reinstalling the
original?

Yes. You will have to uninstall the SP1 preview, reinstall the original
RTM version from CD then apply the RTM SP1 patch on top of it. Your files
in the "My Notebook" folder will remain intact through this process,
although a backup never hurts before performing any kind of application
installs.
