I have been using word 97 on my windows xp. Have downloading Service Pack 2
my documents keep giving me an error message.....Not Responding.

The document comes up but cannot get into it.

There have been problems reported by some Office 97 users when trying
to run on WinXP, particularly after Sp2 has been applied. I haven't
seen any real solutions other than upgrading office to a newer/more
compatible version.

Sorry, you might want to consider that. Or remove Sp2, but there are
some important security fixes in that version.
