Hi

First Name are typed in column A. However, these names are
not straight in column.

Ex: Huong
Phuong
Hiep
Long
Diep
Hong.

I think there is spaces before them (Phuong, Long,
Diep...)
Please show me to take a space out.

Thank you
Loi

to remove the space-padding around strings use the trim function.

if A1 has a space-padded string, in B1 enter =trim(A1)

Hi,
Have you tried Trim()?, or perhaps the formatting is not
consistent among the cells.

If you have spaces or other junk in cells, you can try the TRIM or CLEAN
Functions.

Download Chip Pearson's CELLVIEW add-in from

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/CellView.htm

Load through Tools>Add-ins.

Select the data and Chip's add-in will show you what the characters are.

If carriage returns you may be able to Replace them using ALT + 0010 or 0013

Most likely David McRitchie's TRIMALL macro will be of greatest assistance.
Cleans up what TRIM and CLEAN miss.

If each value in the list is one word,

you could select that column
edit|replace
what: (spacebar)
with: (leave blank)
replace all
