And to add to what the others have mentioned, you might also want to look
for extra carriage returns and just delete them. Unfortunately, PPT
doesn't have a way to display nonprinting characters the way Word does, so
you just have to use the arrow keys to move from the end of one line to
the beginning of the next. If your cursor stops in the blank space between
lines, that means someone has hit Enter an extra time to add space between
the lines (my clients do this all the time -- it makes me nuts) and you
need to backspace (or hit delete, depending) to get rid of it.
This probably isn't what's causing the problem in your case, but I thought
I'd mention it anyway.
