Spacing between numbered lists

When I create a numbered list, I like having the lines within an item single
spaced but the space between item 1.5 or more for readabilty. I can't
determine how to accomplish this. Choosing Home > Paragraph > Line Spacing >
Line Spacing Options > Spacing > Before and After options , doesn't seem to
effect this while the list is numbered, while it does when I "un-number" it.

I am using Word 2007. Thanks.

I believe the List Paragraph style is by default formatted to suppress space
between paragraphs of the same style. You'll need to correct this in the
style definition.

1. Click the dialog launcher in the Styles group on the Home tab to open the
Styles window.

2. In the Styles window (pane), click the Manage Styles button to open the
Manage Styles dialog.

3. On the Edit tab, set the sort order to Alphabetical and locate the List
Paragraph style.

4. Select the style and click on Modify....

5. In the Modify Style dialog, click Format, then Paragraph.

6. In the Paragraph dialog, clear the check box for "Don't add space between
paragraphs of the same style," then click OK.

7. If you want this change made in all new documents, change the setting in
the Modify Style dialog from "Only in this document" to "New documents based
on this template," then click OK.

8. OK again to close the Manage Styles dialog.

Thanks for your input. I found this to work as well:

Home > Paragraph Section > Line Spacing icon button > Line Spacing Options >
Uncheck box for "Don't Add Space between paragraphs of the same style" >
adjust Spacing either before or after (I choose either 6 or 12 pt. After)

Simply unchecking that box allowed my to adjust the spacing.
