spacing when using euqation editor

Hi,
I'm using Word97 and am experiencing some problems with the equatio
editor. The editor in itself works fine, but inserting equations messe
up the layout of the page. What I want is that every line starts afte
the same amount of spacing, but because of the special characters i
the equations, lines with those characters take up more 'vertical
space.
For instance it is like this now

line 1

LINE 2 with EE

line 3

line 4

and I want:

line 1

line 2 with EE

line 3

line 4

Is this possible to achieve?

The line spacings that you get with the Equation Editor really depend o
which equations you're using. However, the effect can be minimised b
using a smaller font for the equations, if that's acceptable.

Well, I guess that's not what I want to do, because now, the norma
fonts in the equation are the same size as the normal fonts. The SU
sign and superscript and those sort of things are the bottleneck

You can set the paragraph spacing to an Exact amount, but it will need to be
large enough to accommodate the equations. Alternatively, you can display
the equations (put them on a separate line, centered), which is conventional
for actual equations, but I suspect you're just using Equation Editor for
isolated summations and superscripts, in which case finding a moderate
amount of Exact line spacing that would accommodate them might best suit
your purposes.
