Does anyone have some insight into the following problem ...
(1) All resources (via their groups) are members of regular categories
which use an RBS structure controlling who can view which projects
(owners, assigned, managed owners, managed assigned)
(2) In addition each resource belongs to one of two departments.
(3) We want a resource to view ALL project in their department but not
ALL projects
One attempted solution was to create a special category for each of
the two departments and assign all the projects for that department to
that category. Then each resource is allocated to their department's
category.
This does not work as Project Server 2003 insists that you use one of
the 4 checkboxes and none are relevant since the whole reason for this
approach was for resources in a department to see all projects in that
department not just projects for which they are the owner, assigned,
manage owner, manage assigned.
Any suggestions appreciated.
