Specific printer set for report won't hold config

D

Dennis

I have a report that's really a visitor badge (Access 2002). It's set to
print to a Dymo330 label printer (specific printer selected. The printer is
hooked up and on-line.) The label type is something like 90916 Video Top.
However, when I pull the report up in design view and go to Page Setup, it's
set to 30252 (or something like that). I change it to the correct label type,
save the report, and close it. When I reopen the report, it's back to 30252.
Nothing I do seems to allow it to save the proper label type. I've created a
new blank database and copied the objects from the old one, compiled it,
everything. Nothing seems to work. This is a MUST-WORK application that
suddenly doesn't anymore.

The only recent change was that the linked tables were changed from a
SQL2000 database server to a SQL2005 database server. No other changes were
made. I'm hoping that someone can assist with this, as it's driving mt crazy.
(I'm posting this in another newsgroup as well, because I've got to get a
resolution ASAP. My apologies in advance.)

TIA

Is the printer hooked to the machine you are trying to configure or another
workstation? Try setting the label type while the report is open rather
than in design view. I had problems with Dynos also including what you are
experiencing. I wish I could recall how I resolved it. Maybe try a
different label type or a custom label. The Dynos are difficult to work
with.

I logged onto my client's system, copied and opened the label report and it
reset to the default printer (it said the printer it was originally set to
was unavailable). Then I clicked the Page tab and selected Specific
printer. Then I clicked the printer button. The Dyno 330 was listed so I
closed the dialogbox. Then I changed the Size option from 30252 Address to
30256 Shipping. I tested and the label was correctly displayed. I saved
and closed and opened the report again and the setting held.

It is possible that your Size selection is the problem. Try the 30256
Shipping label instead of the 90916 Video Top. I also Automatically Select
as the Source.

Maybe that will help you. God Bless,
