Speech Recognition volumn bar

I've just started using speech recognition on a tablet PC using Windows XP
Tablet edition. However, whenever I go into Voice Command mode, a little
volumn meter pops up next to my cursor. How do I turn this meter off, it is
a littl obnoxious?
