Speed of Access 2007 on Vista

The speed when opening forms in Access with Vista OS is extremely slow.
The same application works fine on Windows XP.
Is there a way to approach this problem?

Have you applied SP2 for Office 2007:

If you can't do that, and the data is coming over a network, perhaps you can
apply the Dec 16 '08 hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960307

There are some Vista hotfixes you might want to check on also.

Tony Toews has some more general suggestions here:

If you are still stuck, what's 'extremely slow'?
10 seconds compared to 2 on XP, or what?
And what is the source of the form? Local tables? Attached from an Access db
on your computer or on a network? Attached from non-Access data source? How
many records? Table or query? What criteria/sorting?

A couple of other things to check:
a) At least with the RTM Vista and Office 2007, I found substantial speed
improvement when the front end mdb was on the local computer instead of in
the user's documents on the server. Some of that difference may have
disappeared with Vista and Office service packs, but it can't hurt to try.
Vista was much more dependent on having recent drivers for the network
interface.
b) Check that .mdb's are excluded from anti-malware scanning everywhere: on
the local machine, the server and the network.
