How can I speed up converting a word or excel document to pdf ? It is
extremely slow! Any ideas would be appreciated.

What versxion of Word are you using? Only Word and Excel 2007 have their own ability to create a PDF file and as it's beta software
its performance has not yet been tuned.

If you're creating PDF files from Word or Excel in earlier versions it would be with a 3rd party add-in and you may need to contact
that supplier.

I am using Adobe 6 Standard as it is integrated into Word/Excel 2003. I use
the toolbar to create the pdf.

It's my experience that Adobe Acrobat 6 is somewhat slower than Adobe
Acrobat 7. So if you upgrade some improvement can be had. You would need
to evaluate the cost.

I use Word 2003 and Acrobat 6. If you just need a plain pdf file go into
Acrobat pdf setup (use the toolbar in Word) and turn off the bookmarking,
hyperlinking, and anything else you don't need to have.
