Speeding up faxing of image attachments

Hi

We are using Outlook 2000 with Windows XP Fax very successfully for passing
e-mails to fax recipients.

Sometimes the e-mails have large image file attachments which tie up the fax
line for a long time, sometimes to the point where we give up, cancel the
transmission and drop the printed image into the fax machine. A recent
example took nearly 30 minutes to send one page before failing with a fatal
error.

The modem in use is a Motorola Lifestyle 28.8 that I believe will do
14.4kbps in fax mode. The mode SD light flashes regularly and steadily about
2-3 times/sec while the image page is going through.

Any suggestions on how the transmisison time can be reduced? Are other
modems available that are better suited for fax use?

Regards
Scott

Manage your attachment size more realistically. No fax transmission speed is
high enough to accommodate large files. This is POTS.
