I've no idea how this reply got attached to this question. It is total
twaddle, so please ignore it!
Open the document and SelectAll. Select the Reviewing Ribbon and click on
Set Language. Make sure that YOUR language is selected and that both the
option check boxes at the button are UNCHECKED. Than click on DEFAULT and
answer YES to the prompt.

It now does a grammar check but it still does not identify spelling errors.
