Hi Robert,
In checking the fields that the spell checker checks (Tools>Options,
Spelling tab), it does not appear to directly check the header or footer
field.
As a work-around, Show the Project summary task (Tools>Options, View tab)
and then add the header or footer text you want to any one of Text1 through
Text 30 fields. Then add the appropriate TextX field to the header or
footer. (File>Page Setup, click the header or footer tab and select the
appropriate text field from the Project Fields list at the bottom of the
tab.
You can then hide the text field in the view and still run the spell checker
on the field.
