Toolbar of what?
In Word 2003, I have a Spelling and Grammar icon {ABC with checkmark under
it} on my toolbar. If you are referring to Word 2003, perhaps all you need
to do is left click on the down arrow head on the far right, select Add and
Remove Buttons, Standard and the check Spelling and Grammar.
Perhaps you are not referring to Word 2003.

Hello Ronald,
Which application? In Excel and Word, the spelling icon part of the
Standard toolbar. Choose View, Toolbars, and click on Standard if it has been
turned off.
It could also be that you can't see the icon, but it is there. Look for a
small down pointing arrow at the end of the toolbar and click it to see
additional icons.
If the spelling icons have been deleted from the Standard toolbar, choose
Tools, Customize. Click on the Toolbars tab, click on Standard, and click the
Reset button, choose OK, then Close.
