spell check

I just started using Office 2007 pro. I've noticed that spell check nad auto
spell check is not working in any of the programs I would expect it
to...Word, PPT and Outlook. I've gone into all these applications and
followed the KB suggests to the letter. It is turned on and the correct
language settings are in place. Still doesn't work...any suggestions.

As an additional note, you're better off installing one of the third party
add-ins instead. If you install only the proofing tools from Office 2003 and
Office XP then there isn't enough installed to trigger activation and then
you end up failing the Microsoft Genuine Advantage test whenever you want to
download or install something from Microsoft.

Office 2000 also brings its share of issues, in each folder you use for an
email file attachment you end up with two empty folders (Outlook Contacts
and Outlook Email) that you can't get rid of (delete them and they come
right back) and you lose your SmartTag dotted underline in Word. The folder
issue disappears after uninstalling the proofing tools but you need to use
the Eraser utility to get your SmartTag underlines back. (I suspect anyway -
I haven't bothered with that yet since I really don't care.)

I gave up after trying each of the above. <grin>

The spell checking is broken for OE with Office 2007. You have to install
the proofing tools for an older version of Office to get it working again.
