Spell Checking in Mac Office 2008

Valente

Hello!

I am a Portuguese user of Mac Office 2004 and since the 2008 version is
already on pre-sale here and can be ordered I want to know if Mac Office
2008 have spell checking for Portuguese language. Mac Office 2004 have a
good Portuguese dictionary... but since I was still here in the time of Mac
Office X and it couldn't spell check in Portuguese at all... I need to be
sure if Portuguese spell checking is a feature of Mac Office 2008 before I
decide to order it. Any information or reference will be appreciated,

Thanks.

I can't say for sure, but if 2004 has a [good] Portugese dictionary I
sincerely doubt that it will be removed in 2008... and even if it is, the
old dictionary file can probably still be used - especially if you go the
upgrade route rather than a full version replacement.

I see your point, but even so... Mac Office 1998 also had spellchecking in
Portuguese but nobody ever could make it work with Mac Office X. So I will
keep waiting.

I was about to say, "yeah, but Office X was a port to OS X"--but Office
2008 is a port to Intel vs. PPC. So, yeah, I'd wait if I were you too.
It'll all be public as of the 15th, I think.

Also, the "not quite as good" tech guarantee promotion seems to be set
to last longer than the supersuite promotion, by the way, so you might
wait and still save money.
