Spellcheck Languauge

I am a UK user but my spellcheck on outlook 97 defaults to
US and I cannot seem to change it. All other settings
(keyboard/regional etc) are set to UK and the spellcheck
in word is UK.

Any ideas?

You have probably found out by now but the answer is probably that you need to change the normal template in Word
Rename the original "Normal" which shipped with Word to with some other name e.g. "Oldnormal". Then save a new document to which you have applied the English language as "Normal". That fixed it for me.
