Using Word 2000 on WIN 98SE

I opened a doc that I have been working on before when all was OK.
Now - the spell checker does not work. eg: misspelled words are not underlined (in
red or any other color) Under TOOLS\OPTIONS\SPELLING - Check spelling as you type is
"ticked"; Hide spelling errors is NOT checked.

If I open a new doc, the spellchecker works as expected.

Any hints would be appreciated

Select the entire document (Ctrl+A) and go to Tools | Language | Set
Language. Make sure that the correct language is selected and "Do not check
spelling or grammar" is not checked.
