In Office 2003 is there any resgirty setting or command
line option that can be used in a short cut to stop the
splash screen being displayed for all the office apps:
word, excel, outlook, publisher, powerpoint etc.

Many thanks

David

Hi David,

Just so you know, disabling the splash screens will not make the
applications start any faster. But if you want to remove them then
create new shortcuts to the executables that use the following
switches:

Word: /x
Excel /e (note this will also suppress a new workbook)
Access /nostartup

I don't know if there is one for PowerPoint.

Hi David,

Not really, there are there to "fill the time" while the application
loads. You'll find on faster computers the splash screen is merely a
blip on the screen. :)
