spline printing

I have a 3 ring binder and I want to print text in the spline area. How do I
do this?

Trial and error?

Measure the spine (a spline is something completely different) so you know
how much room you have, create a text box that size, type in your label,
tweak it till you're satisfied with the results, print it. If you put a
simple border on that text box you will know where to cut.

To me, a spline is a type of line you can draw with a CAD program.

I'm still trying to figure out where we find the above on a ringbinder and,
moreover, how one affixes a label to it/them...

My, we are having problems with the letter L today. If someone isn't
using too many in one word, someone else is trying to add one in the
word "spine"...
, someone else is

By sheer coincidence thr 3 ring binder I have is an Etymology 18c. You've
been very helpful. I am having my SPLINE xrayed today to have that
rectangular key fit in the grooves in the shaft. I'm expecting my
longitudinal movements to be similar to a long narrow piece of wood fittd to
my SPLINE. I will then have them inserted in my 3 ring binderand will print
the contents on the SPINE of the binder which is what I meant to request in
the first place. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
