split page with one language on one half and another on the other

I need to have one-half the page in English and the other in the translated
language. How to get both on one page? It appears there must be a better
solution than columns as it won't do what I need if the total document is
multipage.

Use a two-column table, not Format > Columns.

Word doesn't like tables that continue for many pages, so break the
table as often as every two or three pages.

Hi.
I also have this problem, I want to have one column in Norwegian and one in
English, in one sheet. And i also want this to go trough all the document,
and have the possibility to edit like a normal format.

As Jay said, use a two column table with Norwegian in one column and English
in the other.
