All I am looking to do is take a single cell and make into 2. I know I have
seen vertical, horizontal, as well as diaginal line splits before, and I
cannot duplicate this. I
I think you are looking for Borders, under formatting. This doesn't
actually split cells in 2, however. That is not possible.
It is possible to Merge 2 cells into one, and then split them back
into 2, perhaps you have seen something like this. It is also possible
to do careful borders and merges formatting so that a section of cells
looks like it has some cells twice as big as others. Or diagonals,
etc. But they are still actually the same.
You can also format the cell to display diagonal text, but it does not
split it into 2.
