I'm curious -- what is the purpose of splitting up the IP address like this?

FWIW,
You could use TTC and *still* retain the original data column, intact.

On the last page (window) of TTC, there's a *destination* box, in which you
can simply specify exactly where you wish the separation to begin.
The default is the column being separated.
Just change it to the next, or any other column's address.
