Spooler error 0x80004005

A lot of our PMs (not all) receive Spooler error 0x80004005. They all are
assigned to Project Manager group.

Based on the KB article 328249
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;328249) we checked
and the ViewDrop permissions are as described in the article. However, the
project managers still keep getting errors. We are using Project Server 2002
SP1 and Project Pro 2002 SP1.

Is there a reason not published by Microsoft but some of you have figured
out the actual reason for this error. If you have a resolution please let me
know.

Thanks!

Hi not sure if this helps but I get the spooler errors when I have set up a
project with resources selected from the directory. Later if I add a resource
manually and save, project askes if I want to make them an exterprise
resource.

Evertime I do this I get the spooler error. I have looked at the link you
have given and will see if it will work for me.

Check your permissions. If you restrict resources to only being Enterprise
Resources and you do not allow PM's to add resources to the Enterprise, you
will get a Spooler Error when the plan is published if it contains local
resources. You can only define material resources locally.

We do not have local resources. We use Build Team from Enterprise to add
resources and use "Assign Resources" to assign them to various tasks.
