Spotlight Search Glitch

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I am trying to use the spotlight search in my Entourage Exchange Account, however when I search there are no results. I have a large amount of emails which I both receive and send out so there is no reason why the search should come up empty. I have tried installing Microsoft Office 2008 again and ran the updates, still the issue remains. Everything looks to be fine with the account and all preferences. There are no issues with the network and I'm pretty sure it's nothing silly which I may have missed. Any ideas to this glitch?

Is Spotlight search indexing enabled under Entourage menu -->
Preferences... --> General Preferences --> Spotlight?

If not then enable it. If it is enabled already then click the Rebuild
button to clear the cache and create a new one.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the cache data created for spotlight searches:

~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft/Entourage/2008

Unlike other computers in my office there doesn't seem to be anything in the Microsoft folder. I have tried to rebuild through the Entourage spotlight preferences but am unsure which cache to clear in order to create a new one. I looked within the main cache folder on some other macs and there was another folder for Entourage (com.microsoft.Entourage). Am I right in saying the Metadata caters for the Entourage Spotlight search?

Thanks for your help

I have checked the cache data created for spotlight searches:

~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft/Entourage/2008

The Entourage preferences have an option to reset the Spotlight
indexing. I would definitively use that instead,
