Spreadsheet in a form

Can a form include an excel spreadsheet in which someone
could make entries and the spreadsheet would make the
calculations? I created the form in Word 2002 and want to
allow users to enter numbers that will be automatically
calculated. I can make the formulas, I can't seem to
figure out how to allow users to make these entries on a
protected form.
Thank you.

Have you tried placing the spreadsheet in its own section? Have a section
before and after - then select protection at the section level.

If you want to protect your formula's utilize Excel's protection within the
spreadsheet.

Dawn,
Thank you for your reply. Do you mean placing a break in
the form to have it's own section?

Also, do you suggest creating the table in Excel and then
paste into Word or should I just create it in Word?
Thanks,
Jay

Hi Jay,

I guess Dawn isn't coming back... Yes, you position your
cursor on the page where you want the unprotected area to
start, then Insert/Break (and usually, you'll select
"Continuous").

And if you want the part AFTER the table to be protected,
insert a second break, accordingly.

Then to into Tools/Protect document, click Sections, and
make sure the unprotected sections are not checked.
Also, do you suggest creating the table in Excel and then
paste into Word or should I just create it in Word?
In this particular case, I'd say go ahead and create it in
Word.
