spreadsheet - with text document

i am having a problem with opening an updating spread
sheet. the spread sheet is part of a text document.

i have windows xp. i can see the spread sheet, but can
not update the spread sheet.

each time i try to update the spread sheet, i am getting
the following message

"the service application source file ot item can not be
found. make sure the application is properly installed
and that it has not been deleted, moved ot re-named.

need any assistance. need to complete caption report.
