Spreadsheets viewing in FrontPage created web site

In my web site I have a guestbook saved in csv mode. I understand that for
viewers who do not have web components on there computer I can provide the
components on my site.
How do I do this? I have looked at help and keep going round in circles, I
have installed the office 2003 resource kit.
I only require users to view and not interact.
My site is http://www.albiefield.co.uk/
Thanks in advance.

Your question is vague - can you please provide a more in depth explanation
of what you're tryng to accomplish?

What "web components" are you talking about? Do you mean your excel ss
file was saved as a CSV? A csv file is a text file - you can open it in
notepad or any text editor.

If you want users viewing excel spreadsheets, they will either need the full
excel application, or the excel reader available from Microsoft.com, or
another SS application that reads xls files.

What has a guestbook got to to do with spreadsheets?

Further to my reply.....now that I've seen your site, I understand what
you're asking, so as below, people need Excel to view the SS component
you're using, or the excel reader on the microsoft site.

Providing a link to the reader is all you need to do.

Any reason your guest book entries are in CSV rather than in html format?
If this is to avoid spammers or something I fail to see the advantage of one
over the other.....both are susceptible.

You could also use a database solution (using the results wizard in FP).
Your site is obviously hosted on a Frontpage enabled server so the FP
extensions are not an issue.

Thank you for your reply, this should clarify the problem.
This query arose because a friend viewing my site who has office XP cw Excel
on his computer said this:-
"I have just realised, instead of the toolbar at the bottom of the page I
have got a section headed 'Missing: Microsoft Web Components' with a link
below this inviting me to go to Microsoft to download these components. But
it is actually pointing to 'file:///X:/OFFICE/files/owc11/setup.exe' but this
fails because I don't have an X: drive mapping, so I assume it's something
from your computer."

X is my DVD drive from which I installed Office 2003 in the first place.
No other visitor has make any such comment.

My reason for using the CSV file was that the supplied Guestbook only saved
the comments and I wished to save all information. I did attempt to use the
database system but this required as far as I could see a Windows server
wheras the server I use is Linux based. "UKHosts4U"
